On the Donor

Hip Hing Construction Co., Ltd. has been constructing buildings and infrastructure in Hong Kong, China and South East Asia for more than 50 years. Today the Hip Hing Construction Group is a leading provider of professional construction services and they believe that the long-term success of business is built on the success of people.

In 1994, Hip Hing Construction Co., Ltd. donated a sum to establish a scholarship to support the students studying Civil Engineering.

Purpose and Scope

One scholarship shall be awarded each year to an undergraduate student in his/her third year of study of the B.Eng. degree in the Department of Civil Engineering, on the basis of academic merit as shown in student’s examination results of the first semester of the third year of study for, with Cumulative GPA 3.3 or above. Students’ achievements in extra-curricular activities would also be considered. 

The recipient of the Scholarship shall undertake a summer internship programme of 8 weeks organized by the donor. 

The Scholarship shall not be held concurrently with any other scholarships awarded by the Department of Civil Engineering or by the University.
